    Item not as pictured

    Picture shows a quilted comforter with about a 12″ striped edge. Actually, the comforter is equally divided with quilting and striping. The color is right. The pattern is right. The total look is off.

    The overall quality of the comforter was good and as advertised. However, the comforter was not as pictured. Not sure if it was a “second”, but the fabric that is pictured at the top of the (where you fold over) covered half the surface instead of the 12″ or so that would be covered up by the shams. It looks silly.

    I should have read the other reviews submitted and avoided disappointment. This Laura Ashley comforter set does NOT come as pictured. As soon as I ordered mine the price went back up, so I assume that they had so many “seconds” to get rid of and then the real thing became available. The problem: the 12″ top border is about 40″- which takes up half of the top of the comforter and looks ridiculous. Shame on Amazon for not advertising this set as a factory second at the reduced price. Had I known, I probably wouldn’t have ordered. It truly was false advertising.

    The fit and finish of the product, however, is excellent. I e-mailed Laura Ashley in the hope of obtaining more fabric to repair the top and received the following response: “Unfortunately, the Board of Laura Ashley Inc has decided to close all franchise outlets in the U.S.A and Canada.”
